Treat Yourself To An Exceptional Dining Experience At Churchill’s In Spokane

Churchills Steakhouse in Spokane has been around since 2007 – and in a business environment that has seen many restaurants shut their doors, this longevity is a testament to just how wonderful Churchhill’s dining experience can be. It is no exaggeration to state that Churchills simply offers incredible food and ambiance that has positioned the dining destination as one of the best on the West side of the United States.

There can also be no doubt that the star of the show at Churchill’s is the vast array of carefully selected and lovingly prepared steaks. After all the owner’s meat-focused lineage is impeccable. Bill Alles’ grandfather was a Master Butcher who emigrated from Germany in the 1800s and his father taught Bill many of the ‘old world’ skills that he now uses to provide steaks of exceptional quality – and a wine list that perfectly complements the menu items (it has an ‘Award of Excellence in Wine Selection’ award from Wine Spectator magazine).

There is an unmistakable air of elegance to Churchills. An ambiance that is only enhanced by the live piano lounge experience that takes place at selected times on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Testament to the excellence of the venue is provided by recognition from DiRONA (the Distinguished Restaurants of North America).

However, it is on examining the menu that one truly appreciates what Churchills has to offer.

Firstly there are starters such as the ‘Raw Carpaccio of Prime Beef Loin’ which provides an introduction to the quality of meat that is used in other dishes. Even the traditional delights of escargot are elevated to new heights. However, moving on to the entrees – where the offerings are testament to the care and attention to detail that characterizes every dish.

The steaks are from corn-fed cattle that are farmed in the mid-West’ All have been dry-aged and are served with garlic mashed potato, the vegetable of the day, fresh bread, and imported butter. Both the 16oz New York Strip and the 12oz Filet Mignon cross the threshold of deliciousness and into the rarified air of the sublime (especially with toppings such as decadent seared foie gras and side dishes such as sauteed asparagus with Hollandaise sauce available). But all the steaks are incredible. However, there are other options such as the incredible slow-braised Veal Osso Bucco and a wide variety of seafood delights such as the Seared Sea Scallops with Butter Sauce.

Churchills will simply not disappoint. For those in search of a superlative dining experience, this is one venue that should be on the bucket list.
